Spring is officially here and it's time to spring clean. No one really likes the word, clean. I've never heard anyone say OMG I just can't wait to clean my house today. So instead of saying clean let's use de-clutter.
Decluttering is more of a cleansing in my eyes than a job (like cleaning is). Decluttering gives you a refreshing feeling and takes pressure off by completing those daunting task that you were supposed to complete weeks ago.
1. Make a list- This is the best way to stay organized and focused on the full picture.
2. Start with the most difficult task on the list- If you are anything like me, I have to complete the most difficult task first or that one task will be on my mind until it's completed. Or sometimes we put it off and use everything else possible as an excuse to not do that major task so it's best to do that first.
3. Delegate - You might have a few tasks on your list that you can delegate for the sake of maximizing time. For example, pay someone to pick up your clothing that you want to donate so that you don't have to go across town to the Salvation Army. Send your clothing over to the dry cleaners to have them cleaned and folded. Or hire a virtual assistant to organize or delete your emails, online projects, etc.
I hope these 3 tips help you to not only declutter but help you get mentally cleansed and focused this spring.
