Preparing during your single season consist of getting prepared in areas such as physically, mentally, financially, and spiritually. During this time of being alone, it's best to date yourself and learn more about who you have developed into over the years. If you are waiting to be found by the man of your dreams or just developing yourself in all areas so that you can live your best life, one area that you want to get familiar with is the kitchen.
Every woman should have at least 5 recipes that she can whip up in the event that you are asked to bring something to a potluck or it's a busy week and you need to make something for the kids real quick.
When it comes to the kitchen, it's best to have a few dishes under your belt that are in different areas like breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, crockpot meals, and quick meals.
For example, I love to make egg muffins for breakfast with hash browns and fruit for breakfast. For lunch, I can whip up some tuna or turkey sandwiches for the kiddo. And for dinner, we may have homemade hamburger helper, creamy chicken noodle soup with biscuits, veggie or chicken stirfry, stuffed peppers or maybe veggie nachos.
As for dessert, I can honestly say I'm not a baker (that's my sister) but I can make some chocolate chip cookies or Chic-fil-A inspired frozen lemonade.
Years ago, I promise you I didn't care to even step foot in a kitchen but thank God for Pinterest and Divas Can Cook. I have learned how to make so many dishes and when I'm ready to learn a few more I go back to my main sources and add a few more to my list.
Honestly, the way to enjoy cooking when you are not really in love with the kitchen is preparation. If you plan out the week and what you are going to eat you are more likely to enjoy it and not feel like the kitchen is a dreadful place to be.
If you are in need of a few recipes go to Pinterest and use the search to find some new recipes to add to your list. Or check out Divas Can Cook [beware you will most likely be hungry after going being on her website].
This week add a few recipes to your list that consist of international recipes, crockpot meals, desserts, and since summer is coming up make sure to add in some fun lunch meals for the kids.
And be sure to share with the class if you have a few fave dishes that you love to cook, list those below and share and help us out.
