OMG, if I haven't heard any other word this week, I've heard patience. Patience in finances, patience in life, patience in career, patience in DATIINNNGGGGGGG. If you can't tell I'm a little tired of hearing the word patience.
But only because Auntie O (Oprah) repeatedly tells us to tell our truth, that I will tell you that honestly, my truth is that I'm irritated with the word patience. When I think of patience I think of being surrounded by old people at the grocery store, standing in the cashier line at Kroger, and having to be at work in 20 minutes.
So what I'm saying is patience makes me want to just put my items down and go to work. Patience sometimes makes me want to quit but at other times peaks my interest and makes me want to stick around and see what will happen.
But let's be honest, patience in dating can make you desperate and patience in dating can make you lonely.
And as much as I want to give in, as much as I want to quit, as much as I want to throw in the towel I realize what's at stake.
So what's at stake, I'm glad you asked! What's at stake is your ability to not give in to that loneliest and to not succumb to desperation. Loneliest and desperation are the key ingredients in settling for whoever comes your way.
Settling can lead you down a road living a life that you hate. Settling can lead to an unhealthy relationship. It may not be easy but be patient. Patience doesn't mean that you have to sit around and rot while waiting. Patience means prepare yourself, mentally, physically, financially, and spiritually.
I say all this to say, not just to you, I'm speaking to myself as well. Don't give in, don't be desperate, be patient.
