The new year; 2018 will be here in seconds and I'm sure there are lots of single women wishing, hoping, worrying, or sitting around upset because they are single going into the new year. I'm sure there's also a percentage that are planning for their future husband to arrive as well.
Me personally, I'll be sitting back and embracing it and here's why. First let me start by being transparent and say that I'm newly single, a few months into it to be exact. Lol, I know you want to side eye me, roll your eyes and tell me that's why I'm embracing it. But sis, I've been here before and honestly I don't see the point in complaining or feeling inadequate because of it.
Nothing is wrong with me (or you), I'm not damaged (neither are you), I'm a work in progress just like you and there are just some things you need to embrace, and singlehood is one of them.
How I plan to embrace my single life will completely be in a 2018 black girl magic eat, pray, love kind of way paired with me/spa time, girl time, activities/events, mommy/son dates, and whatever else fits but doesn't kill my vibe or overstep my boundaries.
Dating yourself is typically a concept that some fear and others don't understand but it's a great time to enjoy yourself. Learn your likes and dislikes, learn a language, become closer to God, get a hobby, travel, learn how to cook.
Moral of the story is if 2018 is your single year, embrace it, enjoy it, don't explain anything to anyone, and live your year to the absolute fullest.
