Personal development is one of the most important things you need to work on in business.
Let me explain why personal development is so important while sharing my own situation. Years back, I started a blog and a YouTube channel and as crazy as it sounds I wasn't really ready for massive success. I was putting in the time and effort but really I wanted to stay behind the camera rather than in front of it. So I stopped the YouTube channel mainly because I'd rather hide in the background and not in the forefront.
I continued the blog but I couldn't wrap my mind around some of the things that people were saying they were doing to grow their blog. One of those things were putting lots of money into ads. At the time (circa 2009 ish) I was barely making $100, so the idea of putting money into ads didn't work for me.
Now looking back I realized that I still have the same ideas and visions from years ago but honestly, I just wasn't mentally ready to do whatever it took to make those visions a reality. I wasn't ready for massive success at the time and honestly would have run from it if it came quickly.
We get excited about the money that comes with success not realizing that we are not ready for the consist work that we have to put in to make it happen. That work may consist of speaking engagements, talking to people you have never met before, doing or going to places you have never heard of. But you have to make sure that you are ready so that when it comes you don't run or sabotage it.
So now I'm going to ask the question that I'm sure you weren't ready to think about. What are you doing to grow your mindset? Write down those ideas and things that people are telling you to do to grow your business but you're writing them off before they finish their sentence.
Is it video marketing? Is it sending out daily emails consistently? Offline marketing? Or just simply put more money or time into your business? Is it reading? Make a list of what those things are and start doing them asap.
